Still making guitars and having fun with stencils

Found an online place that does cool vinyl sticker stencils. Got weird with a couple of guitars to start and I think it's fair to say I could do this for a long time. There are so many weird things you can do that would just be out of reach for me with standard taping. Plus building out custom stencils was very affordable.

Check it out!

Thats pretty cool

How do they work? Just a masking sticker?
The vinyl comes all on one big sheet and it's pre-cut. You go in with an exacto or whatever tool to lift up at the edges any parts that you want to remove. Once you've done that for the whole sheet then you lay transfer paper over the top. It's basically a sticky piece of clear plasticky paper that grabs the vinyl sticker off of the backing sheet and makes sure that it maintains the design elements.

From there it's basically just a giant sticker. You put it on the guitar. Then you slowly and carefully peel the transfer paper off and all that is left is the sweet a$$ stencil ready for you to paint. Basically I totally blew it on the first one but after that it's been smooth sailing.

Pulling off the stencil once you're doing painting is the most ASMR type thing ever.

Cool I did something to that effect on my Daughters bedroom wall. Princesses or something. Lay it down rub the bubbles out then peel back the plastic stuff leaving the decals.
Cool idea on guitars
