Stop bar issue

Hey guys, I have a Fender JA90 which is a great axe but I want to change the bridge and stop tail for Tonepros. I notice the stop bar uses #24 thread but stock is #20 (I checked with feeler gauge on my tap/die set).

What can I do in such a case? I suppose the inserts have to be changed? That would mean a visit to the luthier and more $$. Is there any way around that?

Re: Stop bar issue

Pull the studs out and buy a tonepros tailpiece with the same width OD. I've used a clawhammer in the past with something flat on the body for protection.
