Stopped by a pawn shop today and something pointy followed me home

Don't know much about it, but I think it was made in Japan in 98. It has the Jackson licenced Floyd Rose and EMG HZ's. A couple of dings here and there, but the neck and frets are fantastic. Especially for what I paid for it. I wasn't really in the market for a new ax, but couldn't turn down the deal.
If anyone knows anything about these axes, I'd be more than happy to hear it.

Pic is kinda dark to make out features.. BUT, MIJ pretty much guarantees its a great axe!! Congrats!

Is that a DXMG? I used to have one like that. Mine played great. Yeah, the neck and the compound radius were killer. It was heavy as hell. Probably the heaviest guitar I've owned. Never could find the right pickup for it, though. I should've tried harder. I kinda miss it.

I have a 98 DK2. Quality guitar. Nice find!

I'm not sure if HZ's were out that early. I am guessing the year going by the 7 digit serial number on the neck plate that starts with "98". Tiny sticker on the back of the neck says "made in Japan". I took the photo with my phone which doesn't have the greatest camera. I'll post some better pics later.
The guitar is a little on the heavy side. It plays and sounds great. No problem staying in tune. The HZ's aren't too bad. You do have to play precisely because they are unforgiving of slop. I may replace them at some point, but I'm in no hurry.

Just popped out the neck pickup to have a look, it appears to have a manufacture date of "08". So maybe the guitar's an "08" instead of a "98".

Hey that's awesome and everything but the only pointy thing on that guitar is it's headstock lol

Well, that and the fret markers. According to a thread posted several years ago, that qualifies it. 😎

Nice guitar you have! I have a Jackson King V guitar with a neck thru body design. It's an amazing player with it's compound radius fretboard. Have fun playing your new toy.

Thanks, I am. Part of what drew me to it was the vibrato. I know that it's not the same as an OFR, but it seems to work and stay in tune. None of my other instruments have one, so it fills a niche.
Of course, being able to buy if for less than a buck fifty also played a part in my decision.

Holy Shizzle!!!!!!! You got a Japanese Jackson for less than a buck fiddy?? SCORE!!!!

Been playing it through a few different setups. Liking the HZ's. Love the neck. And it seems to stay in tune.

That's definitely a DXMG; made in Japan, but in the early/mid 2000s as opposed to '98.

^^
Yep, after looking at the neck pickup, I figure that it was made in '08 or '09.
