Strat players...

Re: Strat players...

'04 American Standard Fat Strat with a one piece Ash body and the Sienna Sunburst finish. One of the most beautiful grains I've ever seen, at least IMO. Rosewood fretboard and a silky smooth neck that plays like butter. I played 10-15 American Strats that day, and as soon as I started picking on this one... it spoke to me. So, I got it. I couldn't resist.

It has Tex-Mex neck and mid pickups that I actually like. The bridge bucker will probably go in a few months. It's ok, but not great. Maybe a CC or JB...

Is your daytona a usa model...how does it compare with your other strats...i've been thinking about getting one of these someday...they can still be had for decent prices...i've always been thoroughly impressed with usa hamer products but i've never run into any of these in any shops...i know they don't make them anymore...curious as to a review of yours...neck, frets, and overall playability/quality?!

i have a brian moore i1...super stratish...h/s/h...mahogany body, quilt maple cap...mahogany neckthrough...LOVE it!!!

Re: Strat players...

MIA '98 "Big Apple" Strat in Olympic White w/Tortoise shell pickguard. Came with white SD '59 neck/Pearly Gates bridge....I changed the neck to a Pearly Gates neck, so now it's my "Pearly Gates" Strat (I'm crazy like that!!).

Eventually, I'm gonna swap out the p/us for Antiquities on this one, & I wanna make another Hardtail Strat & put the Pearly Gates pickguard on that.

MIM '99 Strat in black w/Tortoise shell pickguard...EMG DG-20(the David Gilmour models) pick-ups.

You can see them in my link below........

Re: Strat players...

My no.1 is a chrome silver/maple 'board Texas Special Fat Strat, all stock except for locking tuners. Funny thing was I liked it from the beginning, and the more I play it the more I fall in love with strats.

Re: Strat players...

I have a 2003 Hotrodded American Series Texas Special Strat in Surf Pearl with 1-piece maple neck. I rewired the bottom tone control to the bridge pup, leaving the middle wide open, and changed the pickguard from pearl to parchment. The Texas Specials sound great in this guitar, so they're staying for awhile.

I also have a '98 California Series Strat in Fiesta Red with 1-piece maple neck. I installed a new aged pickguard assembly with SSL-1's, rewired it like the Texas Special Strat, and then replaced the SSL-1 bridge with a Twangbanger for more umphffff.

I like the Texas Special Strat the best -- there's just something special about the neck and tone of that particular one.

I play....

Gibson SG Gothic with SH-13 in bridge and SH-10 in the neck

Gibson SG faded brown with SH-13 in bridge and SH-10 in the neck

Both guitars are strung with a custom set of Ernie Balls (60-09)
Both guitars also have a brass nut.

Oopps!

I have a squire with one humbucker in the bridge
And I have a pink Dean strat-style with two humbuckers...
I also have another squire I bought from my friend for 50$.

For some reason I thought about the SGs and not the strats :smack:
