Strat rewire tone blowout help.

So I have a strat that is my baby. It's been upgraded and modded to the point that only the electronics and body are the same. Now I'm gunning for electronics. It has a custom pickguard so I can't just change the pickguard... I have to modify it if anything. I am determined to put a P90 in the middle position. Thinking about going with a Seymour single coil Invader in the bridge. And I haven't decided on the neck yet. But here is where I need help. I want a multitude of tone options from these pickups and i need some advice on how to achieve it the most efficiently. I'm going to abandon the 5-way switch as I want on/off for each pickup so I can choose my combo.

I basically want, on/off, Phase/Out of Phase, series/parallel, individual tone and volume for each pickup run through a final master volume.

Can I achieve Tone + phase/out of phase with a single push-pull knob for one pickup?
Can I achieve Volume + series/parallel with a single push-pull knob for one pickup?
And then have three mini toggles for on/off?

What value pot would you use for the P90? 250K? 500K?

Trying to accomplish this with 7 pots and 3 toggles.

I plan to route out some of the body to the right of the neck and middle pickups to make some room. Gonna have to route out the middle pickup cavity anyway to fit the P90.

Thoughts? jokes? criticisms? Advice?

Here is how it sits currently...

Re: Strat rewire tone blowout help.

you can use a push/pull pot for switching phase without issue. when you say series parallel, you mean in series with the other pups that are active? im assuming it can be done with a push/pull pot but im not sure how to wire it. if you are talking about a humbuckers two coils in series or parallel that can be done easily with a push pull pot.

seven knobs (six of which are push pull) and three switches is a TON of stuff to mess with and i dont see that as efficient since there will be lots of options you probably never use.

im assuming you are going custom shop for the single coil invader?

i would use 500k pots for the p90

I guess that's true... it would be in relation to how they are wired together as far as series parallel. I'm trying to get it all straight in my head. So I guess I could use mini pots for the individual volumes and do push/pulls for tone and phase switching.

Yeah, I have lots of criticisms!!! But I know you won't want to hear them.

LOL If they help me achieve my goal better yeah. I get this isn't what some would do... that's cool. But I like playing around with different sounds.

Re: Strat rewire tone blowout help.

Wow I did something very similar to my Fat Strat years ago. The main difference was I have 3 outputs. One per pickup with a toggle for combining the pickups to one output.

Pretty ridiculous setup but fun and it allowed me to "mix" my guitar in my recording studio to suite the sound I want. I have a '57 classic hum and two lace sensors (I think a silver and a gold which I'm replacing soon).

Re: Strat rewire tone blowout help.

This has a diagram for the Brian May on/off and phase switch and incorporates a series/parallel switch. Lower in the thread he says the on/out of phase/off can be combined in to one swich. Combined with concentric pots to have Vol and Tone for each pickup and it nearly gets everything you want. I'm not 100% sure what would need to be changed exactly to do that though. That will take somebody much better at wiring than I am.
