Re: Stratocasters just don't do metal!
Strats don't do ANYTHING unless you play them..........
Strats don't do ANYTHING unless you play them..........
Taking hyperbole to heart is not very metal or tr00.
for the 10 thousandth time, a strat cannot do metal, if by "metal" you mean high-gain and black, death, nu and other exteme metal.
Strats w/ stock and overwound pickups can do heavey metal up to and through the 80's .
Heck, a gibson les paul sg or explorer or v isnt really even a metal guitar either they are too traditional..and cause a metal guitar has to *look* metal.its has to look like a jackson, esp, high end ibanez or some tripped out humbucker equipped transmogrified gibson style axe.
If you arent hooked up with a true metal guitar, you may be playing metal allright, but it aint gonna fly; your gonna look like a dweeb..

Jerry. You have absolutely no clue about the attitudes of the sort of people that play this music you seem to be spewing expert BS on. I've played in, and played with, numerous of the heaviest kinds of bands. No one in these scenes gives a rats arse what guitar you use, if you bring the heavy on a Hello Kitty strat then fair flippn play to ya. Most of us got over all that image crap in the 80s.
Finally... someone who knows things. I remember TwinReverb or something made a thread about all metal players being gear elitists or something ahahaha.Jerry. I'm not sure, what's the metal scene like up in Finland?Really?
The thing is, the "image crap" never went away![]()

i wouldnt say all but a lot of the ones i know are
Well you're hanging around with the wrong ones then.
And if those recordings weren't done with Strats then it's off topic anyway.
KIRK HAMMETT!!!!

no offence Rich T., but im not talking bout the kind of 80's metal one plays on barney guitars. With all due respect, you aint gonna get the full face melting and frontal lobotomy on a jag-stang that you will with a freakin' invader equipped guitar that looks..well, like a cross between a SG and a V for example. Thats metal, and bully for you that you play hard rock with a Fender, but I want some **** air movin-ya know,..like g forces that make your jowls flap.Well..not "your " jowls..you probably don't have jowls yet...I mean "my" jowls!
Jerry, I know what heavy is when I hear it. It doesn't matter what guitar it is played on. I don't play 'hard rock' either. Jesus, this is like arguing with my grandmother about the benefits of the internet.
