String stretchin automation?

Re: String stretchin automation?

Well to be honest
I have locking tuners on all my guitars
I haven't tried not stretching

The next string change I will see what happens

On my acoustics
The tug seats the ball end in the bridge peg
I mean, you need the pull, but the fewer points of contact, etc. the quicker it goes for me. On the Strat with locking bridge and locking tuners it's there really quickly. On the Epiphone or Squier Strat it takes a lot longer.

Re: String stretchin automation?

Do strings really need to be "stretched"? I know that's what we call it but I thought it was the string settling into the tuner wraps, bridge saddles and tailpiece/sustain block. The strings themselves aren't actually stretching, right?

I think it's both.

Re: String stretchin automation?

I do realize though that some players, especially ones that play actual real gigs lol,,,,,,they don't want to waste time tuning ,,or at least they want to do it as less as possible.
Home hobbyist like myself shouldn't really mind if the new strings need re-tuned a few times the first day or two while they get settled.
