I'm a cop in SoCal, make $85k base, between $110k-$120k depending on overtime (due to understaffing, there's been a lot of OT lately). But I also bought a home when they were dirt cheap and own for less than many rent around this part of the country, and I just racked my credit card up $5k so I gotta sell something, lol. So it's not like I don't feel the pinch - I do. But I don't own a boat (like most cops and fireman) and guitars is my personal vice. I am however, slowly homing in on a few pieces of quality gear. I'm done buying everything that catches my eye (althout you might not know it). :smack:

wow. cops around here get payed sh!tful money. which is why im not gonna be one, just really bad pay. too bad though, everybody always thinks im gonna be one

law enforcement doesn't get paid enough, everyone always argues their raises!!! they always pay fire dept's more...even criminal's wanna be saved from a fire!

I have to give a lot of props to TC, you have to be one tough SOB to last as a cop in SoCal. I can only imagine some of the chaos he's seen. CT cops don't make that much, but there isn't near as much crime here as there is in CA.

If you can put up with what TC puts up with everyday, you REALLY deserve all those nice things.

LOL....I was thinking the same thing. I knew he was a cop, but I didn't know they made that much. I thought they only made about $25,000 per year. I guess I was wrong.

They probably do earn that much in middle TN. On the other hand, houses are dirt cheap in TN, and any houses that are in a county that borders the coast (i.e. not Riverside) probably cost at least 5x as much in CA.

We do pretty well in MA, too, and I will have to steal that 'boat' thing from you...my current 'but' is that I don't play golf. The boat is much better. :laugh2:
