Suggest me a chorus

Re: Suggest me a chorus

Interesting. Will let you know. Cheap enough to flip if they doesn't work out.

Re: Suggest me a chorus

VL sounds good. My only point is that I don't remember what an old Boss sounds like.

so, am I reading that the voodoo is the who do of chorus lushness?? Ive tried a few diff ones and haven't found Exactly what Im seeking. Cant afford many more attempts..

Re: Suggest me a chorus

That's hilarious. $65 on reverb. I think they were $99 street price in the day.

That sounds about right; I bought mine used, but it was in the $60-80 range I think.

The Voodoo Labs chorus is overrated IMO. It sounds better than something entry level (like a Boss CH-1 for example), but it really isn't anything special. Mine was kind of noisy and it came up light years short of my CE-2 in terms of overall tone.

If I didn't have that CE-2 and was shopping for a chorus now, I'd first want to give the new CE-2W a try. I may do that anyway, but I won't be buying one unless I'm absolutely blown away. If the CE-2W didn't make the cut, I'd look into the Retro Sonic or Red Witch. Neither is cheap, but they're both far more lush than a Voodoo Labs.

Re: Suggest me a chorus

checked some online demos and the tc corona is really impressive! I just wanna find the perfect hair metal chorus for those aquanet sticky thick leads without having to buy a rack system

I'm on the fence with it. As far as a mellow type of chorus it def does the job. It's not got a lot
Of tweakable tones tho. As for sounding good with the band it does well.
I may in the end still end up with a tc electronics dreamscape. Simply for the tone prints

Re: Suggest me a chorus

So, let me go right for the direct question... If you could buy one chorus for 80s metal stuff, would you get the voodoo labs, TC elec Corona, Boss wazacraft... or?? I have a Boss CE 5 currently

Re: Suggest me a chorus

I'd still go with the Catalina, as you can set it to be on for the clean intros, but when the distortion kicks in, it automatically turns off. It works really well.

Re: Suggest me a chorus

I keep forgetting bout that one quite honestly.. It does hair metal well I presume?? I think the main thing I need to find is the right delay for that. Im in the ball park running both of my delays, but still cant quite get it..But lets iron out the chorus first.
