super annoying fret buzz

im getting horrible fret buzz on the lowest three strings on my lp. :yell: its definitely because i changed from regular 10 guage strings to the 10-52's. but idk how to fix it. ive been raising the bass side of the abr1, but to very little changes. i think i might have put it in backwards but i dont think that makes a difference to the buzz just the intonation. anyways i have it in so the slot headed screws are facing towards the pickups. i think thats right... anyways, how should i get rid of this? its really annoying. i used to get absolutely none and now i get this annoying buzz on basically alot of the frets on those 3 strings. (D, A, E) should i just bring it in to the tech? if its something simple i dont want to have brought it to him for something i could have done... any ideas?

If you went to heavier strings, you probably need to set it up again. File the nut for the larger strings, maybe a truss rod and bridge adjustment.

You may need to add a little relief to the neck/truss rod.
Heck, all my Gibsons have a little rattle on the first few frets, but it usually doesn't show up in the amp. But I do like my action low.

If he put on heavier strings he is going to want to reduce the relief- straighten the neck. You going to want to counteract the pull of the heavier strings you put on.

i thought i might have to do a truss rod adjustment. if i have the headstock w/ gibson logo facing me, which way do i turn the truss rod for relief, and which way is to reduce relief? thanks for the help guys

Tighten it (reducing relief, straightening the neck) just like a screw. Remember... righty tighty, lefty loosey

i think someone already said it once, the easiest way to remember which way the truss rod and neck need to go is, right rises and left lowers.

I have the same problem with my guitar... will adjusting the truss rod likely fix it?

Adjust in very small increments. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes.

Yup! Make sure you tune the guitar during this period also becasue the neck has a big effect on this.

...and accually if you are straightening, you should detune a bunch to let the adjustment set into the neck more easily...retune to check the adjustment...detune if you need more. Straightneing is a little more tricky than adding relief.
