A'ight, so I made a backing track for people to solo over, which can be found here:
Heavy Blues in A
In the original thread, I got a lot of great clips from some of our forum's finest, and I was inspired to try and stick them all together into a complete song with each player given 12 bars. Since there are 5 progressions in the backing track, there are 5 spots for soloists. Also, Jeff Seal came up with a wicked back porch slide intro for it, so I'd like to include that too.
Here's who I have solo clips from so far:
In the original thread, myxolidian said he wanted to contribute, and I think there may have been others as well. Please chime in here if you're still interested.
Here are the instructions:
Feel free to ask me any questions.
Thanks everyone!
EDIT: The first version of the song is full, so I am making a second version.
EXTRA BONUS EDIT: ... and now version 2 is full! That's it folks. I apologize to anyone else who wanted to participate, but I simply don't have the time or energy to make more than two mixes. I promise we will do something like this again, maybe in a different style (right now I'm thinking metal but we'll see).
A HUGE thank-you to all who have participated!!! I am sincerely blown away by your talent and enthusiasm!
EDIT - Version 1 is complete! See below!

Here are the instructions:
1. Post here or PM me if you want one of the two remaining spots. If you're not sure how to record and send me your stuff right now, please step aside and let the others who can do it participate. This likely won't be the last time I do this, so your turn may yet come.
2. Once I have confirmed your spot, you need to record at least 12 bars of guitar over the backing track. You can record over the whole thing if you want and let me chop out your best 12 bars, or you can just do the spot you've been assigned. It's up to you.
3. When you have finished recording and you're happy with it, make me a wav or mp3 file (wav is preferred) of JUST THE GUITAR TRACK solo'd. You can either mute the backing track, or solo the guitar, whichever you prefer, as long as the only thing in the mix is your guitar solo.
4. I will send you a PM containing my e-mail address. Send your finished track to that when it's ready. Once I have everybody's track, I will weld it all together into a complete song and post it here.
