Same thing as the pedal only it has a loop just like Boss NS-2 pedal has, that is you can run it twice infront of the amp and in the EFX loop. I think that's it for the most part ....

so the only difference between the pedal and the rack is the rack having two channels?

Not channels, a loop. Just like on NS-2

ah ok. otherwise all the same chips inside? does the rack work better and is it worth the extra $300?

You know what mate, I might've been off a bit, the outlay is like a two channel thing but I think the technology is still more or less is a loop schematic, I guess ... anyways these guys have the best rep on this site and they are the only ones on the net who went out to really expalain things.
