It's definitely not great. My brother put one in his Tele I think hoping it would turn into a Les Paul, and it's pretty far from, but it fattened it up so he was happy. It's not my guitar, so I can't swap it out. I doubt any mini humbucker will come to life in that position, but I'd go for something hotter and hope for the best. I'd also put a push pull to split the bridge humbucker, Teles were designed with single coils in mind so it's just an all around good idea to have an escape switch that can get you back to safety if the guitar is putting out unflattering tones for a particular song you're trying to perform.
Honestly I think the Quarter Pound is the correct solution for getting a "fat" Tele bridge, you get those single coils highs, though much of it is still attenuated by the hot wind, and you can get a tapped version to take it down to stock territory. And it looks good there.
