I'd have to say I'm a punk rock guitarist, but none of those bands even come close to my influeneces. I'm into the old stuff (when it was punk ROCK - not hardcore) nothing after about '84. New York Dolls, Stooges, DeadBoys, MC5, Heartbreakers, Buzzc***s, The Jam, X, Rezillos, Ramones and even though they ain't punk early Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, and Motorhead are definitly an influence on my playing. :saeek:

I kinda laugh too when I hear the younger guys and girls talkin about "punk" or "hardcore" music and spouting off a bunch of new bands I've never heard of. To ME Punk rock is The Sex Pistols, Ramones, DK's, Black Flag, and GBH.

Hmm, I'm pretty varied. Mostly emo, emo-core, alt-metal, screamo, little bit of hardcore...but then again, also blues, blues-rock, ehh...maybe I'll just list my main influences and types of bands. :laugh2:

Incubus...Thrice, Emery, Sparta, Further Seems Forever, The Early November, Coheed and Cambria, RUFiO, Thursday, that sort of thing...Santana, Clapton, Led Zeppelin...mostly the Thrice, et al category though. Incubus being the only exception. I love them, and have learned almost all of their albums. So I voted emo.

Rock...definitely rock with a good dose of pseudo-shred. An eclectic mix of Deep Purple, Petrucci, and maybe some Sabbath thrown in for good measure. That's me.
