the bogner is not working out too well for me. any suggestions?

the uberschall is a great amp. it does metal very well. and the cleans are good. but for some reason i just cant get the sound i want. i cant seem to get much bottom end out of it. its either thin sounding or the mids over power the bass and treble. i believe alot of it is the speakers in my cab. so i am thinking about either trying to trade 2 of them for 2 vintage 30's. or just buying 2 vintage 30's. but before i spend the money i am wondering if there may be something out there better for what i want. i want good bit of gain. but not too much. i only keep my gain contol on the uber at around halfway anymore than that and its too much. plus i really dont need the 100-120 watts it puts out. about the heaviest i play is tool, godsmack stuff like that. but i also play alot of blues and classic rock. would i be better off with a splawn or a shiva? this is the biggest purchase i have ever made on anything like this. and i hate to keep going through amps. i cant play hardly any good amps because no one around here carries them. so is there anything you guys would suggest me trying with the uber or any other brands?

i'd say replace the speakers in your cab to match the ones that come in the uberschall cab before doing anything else. 2 vintage 30s and 2 G12T75s.

Something is INCORRECT with your set-up.

The Uberschall should be impregnating cross-county neighbors and their pets with bass.

Check the tubes - your output tubes might be on their last legs. Speaker / Cab choice is another good place to look.

Try the amp out in a store with different cabs before you buy new speakers. There are speakers that don't work well with some amps. I have a splawn and it's amazing, but I have vintage 30's and they don't work well with it, the sound is great but could be better. I didn't like the clips i've heared of the shiva, it's more of a low gain amp for blues or whatever.

i am going to try new speakers. i dont think it is the tubes they all glow fine. they arent that old the head is an 07 model so they should have a good bit of life left on them. i am going to try the set up that bogner uses in their uber cabs. that might do the trick. now its just a matter of finding someone who has the speakers i need to trade with.

i dont know where hanceville alabama is but i live in hoover and i'm 10 minutes from a guitar center and 20 minutes from at least 3 independant music stores (2 of which focus on guitars/guitar amps). maybe you just need to look around or put up with a bit of a drive?

i am about 35-40 minutes north of hoover. i have been to most of the guitar stores that i know of mostly all they have at guitar center is marshall, crate, fender, and the modeling amps. i do business with bailey brothers some too. but once agian same amps but with mesa. and an orange sometimes when i go. the only smaller stores i have been to are alans and highland. and they are hit or miss since its used stuff

Yep, that is a brutal amp if you want it to be.

i didnt realize there was as many people on here from alabama. the cab i have is a marshall 1960bv vintage cab

Agreed with the above

The Uber is INSANE with CRUSHING bass and huge sounds. I actually find it too much of a beast to tame, though some argue it does brown out a bit if you lower the gain. I have yet to experience this with my limited experience with the Uber in general.

There must be a tube issue, or a bad cab, or the wrong speakers. Perhaps you don't have the right speakers in there? Did you ever open it?

Consider those possibilities.

it may be too brutal for me as well. i think its the speakers. they are celestion vintage 70's i am going to try what bogner puts in their uber cabs.

B Bent has had alot more high end stuff than me but i probably am not too far behind as far as numbers. i havent had that many amps though. maybe 10 at the most since i started. they were mostly cheap ones so they didnt last long. guitars on the other hand i have probably had 70 or so since i started. i used to trade them every week.

i think i will have to pass on the bassman theres not many fender amps i like. now i would probably do some trading on a DR.Z or jcm 800.

Well, the uber has (2) v30 and (2) g12t75
According to several sites, the speakers in your cab are the same as v30, just marshall branded celestions.
So you should just swap 2 of them out for g12t75 and try that.
Of course open the cab and make sure they are the correct speakers first.
