The Cost to Re-Tolex

About how much does it cost to have a 2x12 combo such as an AC30 recovered with fresh Tolex? How easy is it to find someone to do it?

Re: The Cost to Re-Tolex

Weber has a bulletin board section for cabinets. There are a lot of links at the top of various professional cab makers. Any of those guys could quote you. I've had some discussions with Crusty as of late and he seems pretty well-respected. Jeff Swanson as well. Both of those guys are up there near you I think.

Re: The Cost to Re-Tolex

I checked into having my Marshall 2x12 re-covered by Scott Splawn when he replaced my grillcloth and upgraded my cab. If memory serves he quoted me under $100 with labor....$75 is the number that's stuck in my head, but it could have been a touch more.

Re: The Cost to Re-Tolex

I got a price a while back to re tolex a head (about the size of a small box Marshall) and it was around $150...most guys will give you a price break if you strip the old tolex off and sand the cab down before you send it to them.

If you could get it for $100 that would be a super bargain - stripping tolex is a good idea
