The Fender Stratocaster Club

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

Here is amusing addition to the thread -
Gigged, beaten, thrown, dropped, and occasionally actually played:
MIM std strat from 2000. Originally sunburst. SSL-3 in the bridge.

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

My Warmoth 'Kill Whitey' Strat with the Duncan 59 in the neck, and the Custom Custom bridge...it's currently being refinished with custom artwork by my older sister to help promote our art website we're about to launch :smoker:

And of course my black Fender California Strat with single coils from a 60's strat my friend "superstratted" (painted purple, added EMGs and put on a Jackson neck) and a DiMarzio Super D when this pic was taken...now that the Warmoth is out of commission I've switched the Super D for the Custom Custom and it sounds muuuch better...

If you're not going to use the middle makes more sense to not have it than have it and not connect it like Yngwie used to. Was never a fan of features like that.

What's that thing on the lower cutaway for?

Exactly my thinking I won't use it so I don't need it.

The thing in the lower cutaway is a 3 way toggle switch to select the pickups. The guitar is going to have kind of a Gretsch style setup. Master volume, top pickup volume, bottom pickup volume. The Fender style toggle will be a tone switch. Full treble roll off, slight treble roll off, no treble roll off. I'm doing like this because I never use the tone control unless it is full roll off or no roll off. So this set up is perfect for me.

I've got a 1999 American Standard Stratocaster (the last year they made these before switching to the American Series). Last December, I pulled out the stock pickups and put in a SD lil '59 at the neck and bridge, and put a SD duckbucker in the middle. She sounds amazing. See my avatar for a small picture. I need to get my dad's digital cam one day and get some closer shots.

Well I'm one of those weird people that thinks stratocaster = S/S/S etc but oh well

Haha...same here. Although, I also think HSS is fine too, you still have the notch positions. The Stratty quack comes when you combine the middle pups with either the neck or bridge.

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

i have a mex fat strat fitted with jb in the bridge and coming soon 70's strat in daphne blue..should get it around mid january

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

You sir are a liar and a thief!!! :p:p:p

Hee, this is precious 2000 Mexican Standard Strat.
The original pickguard (with EVERYTHING BUT the middle pu) was taken out and this new one was made from scratch!

Fender no longer makes this beautiful "Midnight Blue" color that made me fall in love with this guitar when I saw it and this original Fender pickguard certainly brings out a "love it or hate it" feel to it...
