The Fender Stratocaster Club

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

Well, I´ve owned (and built) a few strats over the years, fender and otherwise.

But the only one that has ever really convinced me was this one.... That´s why she´s still here :headbang:

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

Does anyone know where I can buy Black Tuning Machine Heads for my American Series Strat? Thanks for any info.

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

I recently picked up one a Squier Protone:

That's not the one I got, but one from the JVStrats page, and I'll post pics of mine soon. I plan on doing a '59 bridge, duckbucker middle, and something in the neck. The only negative aspect is that the hardware is pretty messed up, specifically the tuners, and there's dusty gunk everywhere. Anybody know of direct drop in replacemnent parts I could use for it? I'm not sure if I want to hardtail it or try to handle a tremolo again for the first time in 2 years, so suggestions for either fixed or tremolo bridges would be great! Tuners also don't have to be great, just not slippery!

I'll play. I haven't posted my 2004 AM DLX Fat Strat in awhile...

I like it!

OK, deal me in then...

One genuine Lonestar - not exactly an up to date shot though, as it is now fitted with 2x AVn 69's, a Gotoh/Wilkinson trem, a set of Planet Waves AutoTrims and the nut has been replaced with something black...

Then there's this....

One hollow bodied Warmoth....

Evan - How was this bridge banned bu Gibson and for what reason?

Re: The Fender Stratocaster Club

OK, my Jimmie Vaughan Strat is no longer a relic, guess I'm over that phase. I got a Japan Fender Aerodyne carved top body in my fave black with top binding. Stunning. I got a Fender black guard 3 ply. This body must be different from the US bodys. I had to route the cavity for the tone pot, it would'nt fit. Then I had to enlarge the jack cavity, too 'short' for the plug to click in. Only one hole on the guard lined up. The cutout for the bridge on the guard was too small, reshaped it almost 1/4" to drop in. The body feels thinner and lighter. I used the faux ivory knobs from my Tele-Gib..I still may go gold top hats to match my gold knobs on all the other 'blackies'..for now, it's kool.

The bridge itself wasn´t per se, but the addon convertible system was (Made the bridge into a "convertible" trem /hardtail unit. Teh "Tremol-no" is in no way a new idea or something that hasn´t been attempted before, just a new approach with better marketing :) ).

BTW the lawsuit is IIRC one of the main reasons that Wilkinson Hardware is now made by Gotoh ;)
