Add me to this list. Mr Scary is by far my biggest "musical" influence. I've listened and loved all the shredders.. but few of them can play 2 notes and you know INSTANTLY that it's them... GL only needs 1 or 2 notes.

George is by far the best hold over from the 80's guitar monster days. Most modern groups are all about speed and how fast you can scale up and down the neck. George still blends diverse melodies, squeels, etc. in his solos and you just don't hear that much today.
