Unless someone changed out the tailpiece, it'll be the heavy zinc alloy type. I don't think the aluminum showed up until 2002. It's a worthwhile upgrade. Allparts is fine for about $50.00, but it's not made to Gibson spec. If you really want to get it right, check out Steve Rowen's Pigtail parts.
