The 'post your Ibanez' thread

Re: The 'post your Ibanez' thread

Here is my former Ibanez Collection. Most of these had to be sold when I was unemployed. I was sad to see them go.

Man, serious props to you :friday:; '86 was a great year!

Funny how Silver Pearl on 1770s is almost puke green while on 2550s it's actually silvery.

Did you mod the 525 with Proline hardware? What are the active pups in the 600 like?

Sheeet, you had a 425, 430, and 450! Don't see many of those around.

The 525s came with White gold hardware like the Prolines unless it was black, then it had black hardware.

The Active pups in the 600 are quite bright and mid-focused. They have their place as a bridge between traditional humbuckers and single coils. The bass and treble controls are nice rather than just straight tone controls.

The 425 was the hardest to find. To this day I've only seen 3 of them.

I'm a huge fan of Zakk Wylde's so points for that. I also have a Pro Line 1770 (also from 86 because that the only year they were made). You can check it out in this thread in the earlier pages. Too bad a PL1770 had to come apart for this. They are pretty amazing guitars as well.

I thought the body seemed non-Ibanez. Of course the Gunslinger name gave some direction for what it might be.

I will def check your 1770 out. Don't sweat the Parted 1770...some ass "beavered" the body to a point that the local Music Go Round who took it in trade felt that the split that was running down the middle of the body made it "unsalvageable" and parted it out. I picked up the complete neck w/hardware and the Edge for $125.00 as I thought it would be a nice look on my son's guitar.

Re: The 'post your Ibanez' thread

^^ Sinner who butchered a Proline! Excellent deal though - there's been a 1770 neck on eBay lately and it's nearly $200 BIN.

Wish Ibanez did white gold hardware more - I like the warmth it has compared to regular chrome.

Re: The 'post your Ibanez' thread

Say hello to my underutilised Ibanez RGR321ex. Its been in its gig bag for months now

Re: The 'post your Ibanez' thread

I did, too. If I had it to do all over again, I'd have just let her walk out. She'd already decided to leave and it probably just made me look desperate (I guess I kinda was). Yeah, that would have still been the end of my first marriage but I'd still have my Iceman and purple Czech Caddy...

damnedable woman.

My old 79 that I sold to prove I was fiscally responsible to my ex wife. That worked out well...

Well, now you have an ex wife AND an ex guitar. Conclusion: don't sell your guitar. It will never sue you for half of what you've got ...

BTW, love that 2630. Hope you didn't sell that one.

Yeah, but, I knew the Edge would work as some of the B.C. Richs of that period actually came with an Ibanez Edge Tremolo on them stock. Fortunately, everything fit like a glove and set up perfectly. It's actually a great playing guitar. The Neck if one of the best feeling/playing RG Necks I have run across.
