The rhythm guitar in "Caledonia."

My favorite part of Robin Trower's "Caledonia" is the rhythm guitar part that's being used as percussion. I've been trying, but I just can't recreate that sound. Definitely harder than it sounds. Especially as consistently and as smoothly as whomever that is makes it sound.

Oh great. Just what I needed. More GAS! :D

Although, I was speaking more in terms of the picking/strumming style. I'm having a hard time doing that. At least, doing it that smoothly.
What we perceive as the rhythm might be a combination of the effect and strumming. Kind of like how U2 uses multiple delays to create rhythmic patterns.

Sounds like he's just hitting the downbeat and scratching out 16ths with up and down strums for the rest of it. The univibe is just producing a bit of a wah sound as an artifact.

Just love Robin Trower. "Bridge of Sighs" might be my fav. album. Those bends! :o

(and *the* guitar face. I swear, i can tell his eyes are red, even on the black n white videos.) :D
