Re: The Single Most Overrated Guitar of All Time
I know who the forum's single most underrated dumbass of all time of is.
..and who might that be, oh 'breath of a thousand buttlicking dogs"?
The hilarious part about this thread was I was absolutely right.
Most people parrot the "335" as the grail, casue thats all they know, or own.
Now, Im pretty sure a '59 Dot neck IS the grail, not that ive ever played one.. despite being 'only' plywood.
Do YOU have a '59 dotneck? Then shut the hell up about Crapton.
Your 335 may be a great sounding axe,and I'm sure it is, but it aint no vintage 59 PAF dot neck..not by a billion trillion miles.
I actually, by this thread , helped to educate some people that there were solid carved top Gibson 16" Semi Hollows, and not just cheaper less sophisticated laminated plywood top 335's .
The fact that this has been ridiculed here is pretty typical..most peopel only know about the 335, and hence, it truly IS "overrated", at least in this sense.
At the very least from a Luthieary standpoint, a Carved solid top IS a better guitar , and if you doubt that, then your a fool.
Then again, I hear fools hear all the time claiming their inferior built lower quality guitars are "better' than the best made guitars, which is total nonsense.Dream on..oh how i wish an inferior guitar could be better than a superior one...wouldnt that make the world a wonderful place?
The main thrust of my harmless post can't be touched here; like when your going for the grand prize and you unscrew your poptop- 'TRY AGAIN' ....suckers.
