Been ages since we've had one of these threads, far too long IMO.
Those virtual build sites are tons of fun to play with.

And if you've got Firefox you can grab the Pixlr Grabber extension that lets you grab, edit and save from any website.
Also, if you happen to have MS Office you can use the crop tool.

I found some clip art of butterflies, and sized them to fit. I also used some coloring tools to fill in the butterflies, which were originally on a white background.

I ditched the pick gaurd too, but went with a single j in bridge position.

I'm having a guitar built for me, design is all set but like most in this situation I can't get a 100% picture of it in my head! Would anyone be able to photoshop/mockup for me?
Spec wise its a
natural body jazzmaster
black pickgaurd
3 gold single coils
3 gold knobs
black vintage strat style trem
maple neck with black block inlays
black tuners
reverse headstock.
These 2 pics are the closest things I've came to a full mockup. Any help would be great!

I did some digging, and I tried the Jaguar/Jazzmaster builder on Warmoth, but it doesn't have the option for a Strat control layout.

My Rickenbacker-inspired Les Paul thingy. Master volume, master tone, mini toggle for middle pickup on/off.

Been thinking for a while about cutting a body myself and doing all the work. Turns out my father-in-law has a nice sized log of black walnut at his place. He also has a bandsaw, planer and router. I've got a drill press, patience and know-how so looks like we'll be making a couple of Teles, one for him and one for me. His may end up more traditional but mine will clearly not be. This is the mockup I have in my head. Add in forearm and gut contours.
