Unfinished Warmoth Strat project. I think it's a 2008 body and I do not know what year the neck is from. One piece swamp ash body, bocote neck, 59 roundback profile. Maybe someday I will complete it.

Re: The Warmoth Club

Floyd? Nah... go hardtail!

Sadly the body is routed for a Schaller Floyd so I don't have much of a choice there. I have thought about getting a roasted maple neck for the Floyd body and ordering a whole new swamp ash body with either a hardtail or a 2 point trem for the bocote neck though.

Re: The Warmoth Club

So ****ing what! haha go a floyd without a locking nut and just use locking tuners. Its not ideal but many carvin guitars are just like that.

I've thought about doing this too but wasn't sure if it would work. You think it would work? It would be the easiest and cheapest solution.

Nice on the MASH mock-up LMAO

Yep Gotoh, graphtech nut and some sperzels and it will be good enough. If it gives you problems you could always get a tremolo stopper and make it so you cant pull back.

Bonus is your strat neck will be pulling the strings straight which will help.

Re: The Warmoth Club

I maybe-probably got more Warmoth Parts-o-Casters than anyone here.

I do not worship the Shrine of Warmoth like some.

IMO< a great Fender put together by a skilled craftsman always trumps ( no political reference) Warmoth at any given price-point,

That said, there IS some kind of value added for a complete premium Warmoth parts guitar, that sadly isn't transferable to anther owner- it's almost always more profitable to part out that Warmoth..

Yet, at the end of the day, ( and yes, there are high end Warmoth parts guitars that are excluded form this critique), they are still, i most insatnces, 'mumbo- jumbo' parts-o-casters.

I know mine are, and I have some nice ones, probably nicer than many.

No way, Fender doesn't offer half of the woods or options Warmoth offers. Even Fenders are just mumbo jumbo partscasters by your reasoning. No Fender comes off the line assembled any better than a Warmoth when assembled by a skilled luthier or tech.

For my money, Warmoth >>>>>>> any Fender

Those are gorgeous pickguards. My original plan was to go with a black pickguard because it looks awesome on green. I had also considered a purple pickguard to give it a Hulk kind of look but these ash pickguards give me something to think about

In the category of "Gone but not Forgotten"; as crazy as it was at the time and as "overboard" as I went with decals, etc. - the Candy Tangerine "What if Stevie had been a Jackson/Floyd Guy" SRV Tribute Stratocaster was my first full Warmoth Build in about 2007. It was a very cool concept (IMHO) w/the DiMarzio SDS-1 Pickups and Floyd it played and sounded great for SRV and Hendrix.
