Re: The Well 69: ImmortalSix

Expanding on the breakfast question, who does most of the cooking, and why?

Fave cuisine, or just "what's on sale"?

I agree +100000000 on restomodding cars. The older Detroit body styles have a certain charm and appeal, but the mechanics and electronics are ancient history.

Can we see a polite picture of your dear lady?

Re: The Well 69: ImmortalSix

this is my favorite out of the bunch you posted. 5.0 and a 9"rear? :naughty:

do you watch metalocalypse on adult swim? if so, what do you like/dislike about it?

I used to back in college when there was cable in our house --- I "got" it, so it was funny to me, I understood what the show was about. That's what I liked about it, the parody. I don't dislike anything about it, it's a hilarious commentary on lifestyle stereotyping based on genre.

Cooking: She does because she's got a lot of creativity with recipes, and she's a bit of a control freak in the kitchen --- the kitchen to her is like the garage or the workbench for me --- "get outta my way, you're doing it wrong!"

Cuisine: I can't even type it all --- we are very adventurous and we make food like you see on cooking shows every single night --- stuff with lost of annoying adjectives, like instead of "salmon" we'll have "chile-lime-rubbed almond salmon on a bed of mango succotash with an orzo-and baby spinach salad with cranberries."

Healthy and delicious is the name of the game for us. She is great with picking recipes, and even better at cooking them.

The Lady? I am torn between posting an ambiguous picture and opening myself to the accusations that I picked an uggo, but also, I don't want you geeks downloading and wallpapering the pictures of my smokin' hot wife; so I am in a conundrum. Right now I'll go with no.

She's a blue eyed, blond-with-a touch-of red Irish girl who runs 8 miles a day, who can put down cocktails like a sailor and chooses not to like a lady, she cooks, she cleans, she slices, she dices.

My oh my, what a catch!

Peter Criss, fo sho --- listen all the way 'til the end of this song to find out why, starts at about 5:15.

Far Less are a bunch of jerks - when my band played with them a few years back they complained about their set time, and started setting up during our time slot without even telling us or the club. Injury to insult, I saw one of them knock down my telecaster, breaking the pickup selector in the process. When I said WTF DUDE, he blamed it on me for putting it there. I don't remember which one he was though.

You say you aren't done with education - do you plan on getting your masters? What field? Gonna go to Va Tech again?

Also, should I brag to grumpy that somehow you accepted my facebook request? :D

Re: The Well 69: Immortal Six

If your wife secretly replaced your plain cream cheese and cinnamon-raisin bagel with honey walnut cream cheese and a poppyseed bagel, how do you think it would affect the rest of your day?

What one instrument would you like to be proficient with, other than a typical rock-band instrument?

- Keith

Mmmmm...good one, and to this I would say, Violin....

Always has been an instrument that just moves me...

Love but she hates: the usual guy shows: King of the Hill, Family Guy, The Simpsons. I love to put on King of the Hill because it reminds me so much of my dad (=Hank Hill), but she just doesn't "get" the humor.

We are strictly internet tv watchers --- no cable in our house, and we get terrible, terrible, terrible over-the-air reception at our place. We get all our TV from hulu.com and the stations' websites.

I'd don't know'st. I hate that too, I'm glad somebody else in the universe has "the didn't problem" too!

Far-Less was my favorite band in college --- my best friend (and best man in my wedding) knew Ray Felts, their original (and unbelievable) drummer. He left the band so he could graduate college. Their singer Brandon was a hey-how-ya-doin friend of mine, and he had a pretty good head on his shoulders. They were all decent when I knew them, but I can certainly understand how that could change as you go from a poor teenager in Southwest Virginia to a musician with a record deal from Tooth & Nail; touring the country. Sorry you had an unpleasant run in with them.

You say you aren't done with education - do you plan on getting your masters? What field? Gonna go to Va Tech again?

I will most likely pursue post-graduate education. It's hard to go back and start because I'm supporting a family right now. I have to focus on my career for long-term financial stability and growth, but I have to focus on my education for me.

The problem is, I don't want to go get a master's degree in GIS; I want to go get a bachelor's degree in physics, or mechanical engineering. I accidentally figured out what I want to learn about after college --- whoops! Also, I can't really afford to take a pay cut right now, which I'd have to if I started from scratch as a "new graduate" in physics or mechanical engineering, especially at age __, which is how old I'll be when / if I ever go back.

I would try to get a master's degree in physics or materials or mechanical engineering, but I can't get into any programs with my education background. Imagine that.

Kind if a funny spot I'm in --- I can (insert important sounding government responsibility) but I'm not qualified to take Statics 501.

Also, should I brag to grumpy that somehow you accepted my facebook request? :D

A couple of you geeks got in under the wire!

i think a more apt title should've been: "The Well 69:My body is a wonderland" that is all.

Yeah, GIS has it's moments. I can think of one day I was in the basement at The Pentagon, and we had a hurricane coming in quick, and they needed maps of what areas what be affected and I was able to spit some out, no sweat, and the chief of my branch, the Major, was so pleased he nearly said "thank you"

I met Mrs. ImmortalSix in 2001 in high school --- 11th grade --- she had just moved in from St. Louis, MO, and was the new girl. Our English teacher wanted to go around the classroom and have each student tell what book they'd read last. Well, she said "The Restaurant At The End of The Universe" by Douglas Adams, and so did I. That gave me my "in" to talk to her at lunch, and I asked her out the next day. We went out that Friday, and we dated for 2 years, until graduation.

We went our separate ways as we went to different colleges, she went to U. Dayton and I went to Virginia Tech, and we were apart for 2 years.

Second semester of sophomore year, she transferred back to school in VA --- in Richmond. She came up to visit Tech, and we saw each other again. We hit it off again and started it back up. We have been together since.

Next semester, she transferred to school up by me.

I put a ring on her finger a month after we graduated college.

Our first anniversary is in 3 weeks :)

Absolutely yes! I am a big time history buff, early American history especally, and Virginia is the center of the universe for that stuff!

Proper response coming tomorrow --- off to bed now!

Thanks to all for a big opening day!

Re: The Well 69: ImmortalSix

Good Morning,

Are you in a monogamous relationship with a certain beer company? If so, which beer company and brew? If not, what beer do to buy most often for yourself?

Re: The Well 69: ImmortalSix

Do you think that Supernosher's signature is self-indulgent and over-the-top? If so, why?

Thanks

Yeah it does!

I would chuck no wood. My dad and I had some woodchucks building a dam across the creek in the bottom field of our farm, and we were out there 3 times a week trying to undo what they'd done.

They eventually got the picture and moved elsewhere, but MAN, what a load of work! Those things are industrious!
