Re: The Well XLV: Live at Budokan

So now that you've entered shutdown mode, can you answer the favorite song question? :)

This is a question that I know everybody hates because it can change from day to day, depending on their mood, where they are in their life, musical tastes, etc.. However, I have to say the one song that I never turn the radio station from is "Hotel California". I just love everything about that song. It's got everything that a great song should have. A good beat, catchy rhythm, memorable lyrics and melody, incredible arrangement, tasteful accents by both Don and Joe throughout and the climactic double guitar lead at the end starting with the trade offs and then both together on a very memorable melody. Just awesome. Each time I hear it, I'm reminded just how great the musicianship is between all of them.

Frat girl accessory? Foot glove? I dunno, that's not something I ever think about...LOL.

What are your thoughts on frat girls? Frat boys? Broskis? Dudedom in general?

No opinion really. People can hang out with whomever they choose to whether it be part of a frat or chillin' at a buddy's house watchin' football while doing 12 oz. curls and munchin' on some wings.

This same tragedy has done in your pedalboard...you can only salvage one of your drive pedals..choose..

DS 1 mod

SOD mod

TS808 mod

Mosfet

Rangemaster

And yes, I know this will be tougher for you than choosing a new guitar was, pedal-boy!

You're right, this is tougher because I like each one for different reasons. However, I think I'd have to go with the TS808 Mod. It just plain works well with all my guitars. I can always build another Mosfet Boost and Rangemaster.

Re: The Well XLV: Live at Budokan

Oh, I don't think anyone asked this yet: What's your favorite KISS song. You have to pick just one. (I know, life's a b¡tch.)

I just saw that you meant favorite KISS song, not any song.

Well, since I answered one, I may as well answer the other.

And the answer is (keep in mind I changed my decision here 3 times): Black Diamond.

OK let's talk about Spellbound..

Where do you want the band to go? (just your wishes, whether realistic or not)

How do you actually see the band going in say a year? 2 years? (the realistic answer)

Are you content with the state of things as they are?

How do you sleep at night knowing you shamelessly axed your brother in law from the band? :laugh2: (you know I'm j/k)

My wishes would be to play 5 nights a week and get paid enough that I wouldn't need a day job.

Realistically, adding in some more high paying gigs like corporate functions and private parties. Those pay really well. Playing House of Blues in Dallas is a goal for us right now.

I see us adding in a little more material from the 90's and 00's, playing the 3 times a month that we talked about doing at the beginning, main stages at the festivals, maybe even having a song of our own or two.

Are you content with the state of things as they are?

Yeah, pretty much. I'd like it if we got paid more but that'll come as we grow. Just getting out there and playing gets me going and it's just a blast. I'm looking forward to this Sat night after a couple weeks off.

Sleepin' like a baby....LOL. In all truthfulness, I quit that band after I was recruited to dismiss Sarah. It just wasn't right for the reasons that were there. Had I not quit then, then I probably would have had a tough time sleeping that night. Since then, the bro-in-law has apologized to Sarah and all is good. He realized it was a mistake. His band is doing pretty well, BTW.

Re: The Well XLV: Live At Budokan

What's a typical set list for Spellbound?

This is our current second set. We've had a few different arrangements but this one has proven to be strong.

Don't Stop Believin'
White Rabbit
Sunshine of Your Love
Independence Day
Before He Cheats
Gimme 3 Steps
Sweet Home Alabama
Possum Kingdom
You Really Got Me
I'm The Only One
Wanted Dead or Alive
Hotel California
