How do you learn to confidently navigate the streets of Boston and Cambridge? Also when lost there what is the best source for directions?

What brand is your MIJ LP clone that you love?

Your Deluxe - pancake body?

KISS or Rush?

Learning to drive in Boston and Cambride is easy.

Stop looking at signs and start looking for landmarks.

Key things to keep an eye out for are as follows: The Charles River (pay attention to which way its flowing and which side you want to be on of it), The Prudential Center, Harvard Square, Kenmore Square and any T stop along the way.

It's truly one of the few cities I say are easier to navigate once you stop paying attention to directions.

With that in mind the BEST source for directions is gas stations or liquor stores, but not during peak hours.

Never....EVER....ask an attendant at a Dunkin' Donuts for directions.

What brand is your MIJ LP clone that you love?

It's a Greco.

Your Deluxe - pancake body?

Totally....three-peice top and original mini-hums.

KISS or Rush?

Could "swift kick in the junk" be considered as an option...because I'd totally prefer that over the existing two.

Is Skyes Whitesnake?

No...Vai was.

Seriously...the most interesting things about that band were Tawny and Vai.

Tawny got old and Vai no longer needed the start-up capital.

Come on now....24 hours left in this whole parade of Shenannigans....

Ask away!

Re: The Well XX - The Well Is Hell / I'm A Rebel So I Rebel

if you could go back in time and change one event in your life, what event would that be?

Seriously?

I would have unloaded an ex-gf at least two or three years before I had when the head-games were starting to ratchet up...before they delved into such wonderful events like self-mutilation, phone calls in the middle of the night telling me that she wanted to kill herself and her being jealous of every woman that I might come into contact with on a daily basis.

The emotional toll from that was just brutal. It did alot to mess me up for a long while.

The pithy answer?

I might of sent a "Thinking Of You" card to Kurt Cobain just to piss several prolific SDUGF members off....

What venue would you most like to play, and who would be your support act??

Re: The Well XX - The Well Is Hell / I'm A Rebel So I Rebel

Do you like any stoner rock? Bands like Fu Manchu, Pelican, Electric Wizard.... ya know, heavy on the fuzz, light on the galloping palm mutes.

Well swift kick in the junk it is then! :butkick::jester:

So what era Greco since I may be looking for something soon?

Your fishing biz, you run that with your family right? I think that is a pretty great thing regardless of the type of business. Not so much a question as a comment really.

So you wake up in the middle of the desert completely dressed to the nines in Paul Stanley's KISS getup, makeup and all. What preceded to this event, and how do you get back to civilization without entirely embarrassing yourself?

I would have liked to have played CBGB or The Rathskellar or Local 186. The last two were local Boston haunts that I spent a good chunk of time in.

Support act would be the illustrious Clutch Grabwell...

Gotta go with the local boys!!!

A bunch of years ago someone gave me Monster Magnet's "Powertrip" and I liked it alot. I still dig it out now and again and give it a listen and enjoy it.

That's as close as I really got to it. I like the idea of it...just never got the gumption to really give it all that much of a listen though...

would you ever sport a faux hawk?

Naw...

If you're going to do it, go all-out and dye the thing weird colors and get up the extra hour in the morning to iron it to full extension.

The Greco is, I believe, a 1987. It's past when they were doing the exact logo on the headstock and instead had more of an art deco sort of vibe to them. Everything about that axe is perfect from the pickups to the size of the neck to the way it feels when it's sat neglected for months on end and still has that solid feel like it got strung up yesterday.

The family business is a cool thing in that it gives us a good reason to hang out together and spend some quality time and travel and just doing things we enjoy and being able to call it a "business." I'm very grateful to have it and I enjoy just about every aspect of it more than I would have expected.

One of the great things is being able to make that connection with my Father, a guy that worked his tail off when I was growing up so I could have a roof over my head, good clothes, food on the table, etc. He busted his tail to make sure we had all that we did but sometimes it was hard not having him be just a 40-hour a week kinda Dad. Now that I'm older and have a son I have a different perspective and we all get the chance to use the business as a good excuse to get together and just enjoy fishing and hanging out.

What 80s metal band can you stand the most?

:D

There was alot of really great metal in the 80's.

There was Queensryche....Operation Mindcrime and Empire and phenomenal albums from beginning to end.

Testament's "The Ritual" is a fantastic album from beginning to end.

Of course there's Metallica's "Master Of Puppets", Megadeth's first few albums...

The real heavy metal that showed the evolution of the genre I enjoyed. Some of it I still listen to actively. Even CD's like the first Lynch Mob release I think had something very original to it. Even Great White had a Bluesy streak I enjoyed.

But man...was there ALOT of garbage that came out in those ten years, and most of it was hair-metal.

....I can think of no possible event even in the outskirts of reality that would lead me to be dressed up as Paul Stanley. At best it would be some sort of Bizzaro world and in another dimension someone would be waking up dressed like Al Jourgenssen.
