They're here! They're here!!

Well, again, choosing the "Root Beer" means A2P's
Choosing the White means PG/CUstom
Choosing Silver means Distortion set....

But yeah....maybe DiMarzio's for that Black one!

The root beer one would have the sound for me.

Unfortunately, along with that sound would come one of the most obnoxiously large headstocks available and the weight of a mahogany Les Paul style guitar...

But anytime you want to play it / borrow it / rock it, let me know. I'll have Steve Dallas' roadie help you get it on and off:D

I do have to agree about the large headstock. But to be honest, I have never liked ANY of those type of Dean headstocks...even the smaller ones. I don't like pointies and this is just a double pointy...twice as bad as a single pointy.

But I like everything else about it.

Gonna be a few more days until they get in and a clip goes up...

which leads to a whole discussion about my eyes, getting old....and a bunch of stuff I do not care to discuss at this moment [bitter aging man rant off]

They are in!!!! Haven't played A2P's in a long while, and haven't ha any in a guitar for longer!!! At least 10+ years?

Anyway - exactly what I expected. Part of me says I remember why I didn't keep them. They are just a certain kind of 'midline' in tone that just doesn't totally do it for me. Does that make sense? Plus, I had way less guitars, so my stable was mostly Distortion/Custom/PG's.

That said - I have way more guitars now so I can have way more kinds of pickups.

Overall I like them. Solid all around sound. Really nothing to dislike IMO. Maybe a little spongier than I remembered, but not bad at all. I could play a lot on them. I still prefer my PG's. That said, I bet they sound great through my heavy treble Mesa!

I'll maybe make a little phone vid the next day our so and compare with the PG's. Of course there will a Sweet Child clip....

Same reason they did not stay in my Les Paul. They sound great, almost the Jimmy Page LP tone I was chasing at the time, but they have a wide round mid-hump that was a bit too much. I am still considering having the custom shop make me a set of A2Ps with slightly tamed mids and the top end of a Pearly Gates. That would make them stay in an LP for me.

Seems like each PAF type has the mid-thing in a different spot. A2P is wide and round, Seth’s have a a very centered mid honk, Brobucker has a higher-mid chime, Gibson A3 Custom Buckers have a mid-chime point that is in between a Brobucker and a Seth.

These will definitely be staying in here. I can think of a lot of things I would use them for. But I obviously have a taste for the louder/crunchier/brighter side of things....

Anyway man - thanks for the deal! Very happy with overall.
