HI
Can you beleve i sold this guitar!!! It was a stupid thing to do....
I know gibson makes the Angus young signature guitar but i don`t like all the angus **** on it.
Why don`t gibson reissue this one,i think it`s the most classy sg ever made!!
(I don`t like the custom shop 61 reissue with single pickguard either)
It`s a gibson sg standard 1969

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

i prefer it with the smaller pickguard, but yeah that one was definately badass

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

I agree to a certain extent...I like the blocks on a SG..but those trems suck. You can go buy a Historic with that trem, but you'll get traps and a small pickguard.

I think the 80s SGs like John Spina's "white" one with blocks were the best looking SGs ever (along with the LesPaul/SG 3 pup customs).

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

they should start making korina vees and explorers again

without the fukkin pickguards.... and a set-through heel w/ block inlays... and string through..... without a V plate and with an ebony board.

they are 30 years behind everybody else

i didn`t have any problems with the lyre trem. Sure there is other cool sg`s too:)

Ah, the '61 RI with the deluxe lyre vibrolo... my favorite SG ever (in heritage cherry, of course). I tried to buy one from Sam Ash on a same-as-cash deal but they denied my credit application. Oh well. The historics are going for a lot more now than the RI was 7 years ago, so I still can't afford one. lol.

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

you know, what they really need are some non-boring colors. I'm sick of seeing things in sunburst and cherry.

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

How is it different from the angus model? I don't see much difference?
I kinda like the new goddes SG, too bad it's a girls guitar. :yell:

They should reissue the Gibson RD! OMG that guitar has a sexy outline!

Just get the real thing and get a Jag :laugh2:

I like the goddess. I'd play it actually. I'd also play daisy rock. Might buy one for my niece and one for myself.

But WHY does gibson think girls only need 2 knobs?

the 1 9/16 nut on those are gayer than gay.

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

I tell you what they need to make a production model, the Freaking Flying V Custom, that's what.

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

I had one(1968 or 69) in 1972, I sold it for an LP JR. The SG would not stay in tune. I tried grovers but that made it worse, I think there was too much weight on the neck. Terrible problems with the tremolo.

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

-What about those gibson SG SUPREMES??

I like the "FIREBURST" color...I might try to score one on ebay.

They got diamond inlays & ebony fretboard.

And they have 24 frets :3 but they're still production models? We're talking about previous models/non-production ones here.

hmmm....sounds like a bad one. The neck on this on wasn`t heavy at all.
It had no problems staying in tune.
But,i din`t use the tremolo,though!!!
Anyway,i agree with of you guys.Gibson should give us what we want:fingersx:

Re: This is what gibson should reissue!!

I really dig the old special... with ebony board, 24 frets (I think) and quarter moon inlays.

I think you mean the old Gothics, everything you said but 24 frets ;)

BTW, that´s what "sucks" about the new LP gothics, the rosewood boards... too dark IMO compared to the old ones w/ebony boards...
