Here are my questions:

Do you make any modifications to any of the equipment? Do you toss or add any equipment? What's your signal path?

In short, given what you've got, what do you do to achieve your ultimate rig?

(I know, huge questions. Something to keep you busy during downtime.)

- Keith

P.S. Don't say "It depends on what kind of sound you're going after." I want to know what you would do with it if this were your rig.

Now get crackin', guitar heroes!

probably get a switcher (A/B/C/Y) to be able to set up the three amps for individualized tones and be able to switch among/between them

and some kind of effects looper/router to be able to run the effects in useful combinations with each of the amps

some kind of custom 'snake' to neaten up the runs to/from the amps

road cases for the amps and pedals

a ric 12 string

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

id grab the strat put some texas hots in there, buy an a/b/y box

strat->tu2->time machine->a/b/y->vox and super

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

if that were my rig....

Id take the 94 LP standard,

run that through

Modded blues driver
Tubscreamer
Anologman chorus
Uni-Vibe
Line 6 delay moddeler

then run that into the

Vox ac30

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

Wow. That list reads like a lifetime of incidents where GAS got the better of you. ;)

For my money I'd simplify.

I'd keep the LP and maybe the Tele. I'd sell the remaining guitars and buy a MIA Deluxe Strat with the profits.

Then with the monster cables I'd plug those guitars directly into the DC-50 and call it a day. Maybe for those times I'd want an extra "oomph" I'd keep the Spina modded DS-1. Oh and the Univibe...as long as I had a Strat I'd need to keep the Univibe around. But that's about it for me.

What *I* would do...
Ditch the JP wiring in the LP, put the HD Super 90 in the RW necked Tele, choose the best neck pickup out of the two- probably install a 3 position toggle instead of the stock 3 way tele style switch.

Keep the best chorus, phaser, overdrive and/or distortion, keep the TU-2 and be very happy.

I'd get an A-B-Y switch for the AC-30 and and the Mesa.

If that's your list of gear- it sounds pretty cool, and would be very versatile. :)

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

Keep the strat, tele, guild, vox and fender amps, and sell the rest. Use the money to buy a nova I've been wanting.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

keep all the guitars, get rid of the Mesa Boogie......get a switcher pedal to go between the Vox and the Fender amps...... then keep the compressor, the Sun Face, the Univibe, and the time machine boost..... and get rid of everything else

Like a 71 Chevy Nova with a 350 and a 3 speed?

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

Actually, it's a 70 nova with a 30 over 350 and 3 speed. Black leather interior, 87,000 miles on the motor, 126,000 on the chassis and body. Midnight blue, chrome accents, aluminum billit wheels. If only I had the 2,500.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

I'd take a guitar, set up the rig, and play the living daylights outta each possible deivce combo.
That would keep me occupied for a while.

I was just complaining at the beginning of summer that you never see cleaned up Novas around anymore. When I was a kid everybody had Novas. Which is probably why you hardly see them anymore because highschool kids ran 'em into the ground or wrapped 'em around trees.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

i'd sell everything except the guitars and the super reverb, then i'd buy a deluxe reverb and run that with the super reverb in stereo. I'd put a JBL D-120F in the deluxe reverb, and 4 Weber 10 inch speakers in the super reissue. For OD, i'd get a Fulltone OCD.

Then i'd put Texas Hots in one strat, get a new pickguard for the other one and put seth lovers in it. I'd put antiquity I's in the les paul and the ES-333.

AHH, i can just imagine playing a Seth lover loaded strat through that Deluxe reverb and Super Reverb in stereo.....

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

For a start, I'd sell the Mesa/Boogie. From experience, they tend to go for a fair bit.

I'd probably sell the Tele, and buy an S-S-H MIA Strat, with 2 Hot Rails and a JB.

I'd only use about 5 or 6 of those pedals, namely the DS-1 and the Dunlop Wah. Probably keep the Flanger too. The only addition I would make in that respect is a Boss OC-3.

Then I'd play some serious guitar, using the MIA Strat, or the MIA Strat most of the time.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

I'd unload all of the pedals except for the TS-9 and all the rack gear.

With guitars like that and amps like that if you need more than that to sound good then you're not trying hard enough.

...and even then I'd be inclined to forget the TS-9 pretty often.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

Well, if that were my rig, I'd probably sell it all and start over.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

Serious? I might keep a TS a the BBE, possibly some other effects, but other than that, I'd start over.

Re: This is your rig. What would *you* do with it?

well, nobody ever considered a Tele and a Super Reverb a badass metal rig!!

Hmm, when i think about it, with the cash i'd make selling all the pedals and amps except for the guitars and super reverb, i could get Scott to make me the ultimate BF Pro Reverb copy, w/ a marshall channel, 3 knob reverb, and two EV SRO 12 inch speakers....

That's an excellent point. Very little of my equipment is suitable for metal.
