This paint job is off the charts

haha I just bought it! It is so weird and paint job aside the price for that model of Falcon is hard to beat.

The little stylized wing inlays w/ humps point to it being a 6136-55 which ain't cheap.

i could rock that thing. how do the pups balance? id think a p90 neck might not be a great match with the dynasonic

This came to my house yesterday. The paint is pretty awesome in person. Some of the lines aren't quite as crisp in parts as they look in the pics but I'll live with that.

It needs a setup for sure.

I still haven't had a chance to plug it in but I am for sure a bit annoyed that he dropped in a dogear P90 in the neck and likely put some extra holes in the body.

I wish I knew more of the backstory. This is a Gretsch 6136-55VS. It's a $4000 guitar. Why he chose to paint it and do the pickup swap and whatever else........who knows? No neck break. no cracks. It looks good all around.

I know this paint ain't for everybody but I dig it and for $1600......I'll take a Falcon painted in dog doo as long as it's in near perfect playing condition like this guy. Good stuff!

NOW--should I put in two dynasonics like were originally on there? Go back to the cadillac tailipiece?

if the bridge on there is good, i might leave it. gretsch with a bigsby seems right. im sure theres extra holes for the p90. how does it sound?

I'd leave the pickups as is until the thing is fully strung up and playable. Then you can figure out what the guitar needs rather than trying to guess without hearing it. And you never know, it might work the way it's set now.

i agree, especially since the p90 mounting holes are already there. hopefully there isnt more modification under the p90

haha the P90 is kind of not exactly aligned. And the pole pieces are like........nowhere near the strings.
