Sometime ago, my metal/hard rock band was practicing in a very small room.
The other guitarist put his foot down and said he couldn't hear anything, so no more halfstacks. I said ok, less to haul.
I had no combo so he let me use his Marshall VS/MG 80 1x12 something or other. While he used a rather nice (at the time) 2x12 modeler.
To his dismay, the tone I got out of that SS Marshall completely shocked him. He had to see what settings I had dialed in and still couldn't believe it.
It cut, growled and thumped quite nicely.
Funny thing is, everyone else who tried to use it before and after sounded like crap.
It's all in the players tweak & touch.
