Thrash factor

A question for anyone with experience with the dave mustaine thrash factor jb- how would you say it sounds like compared to a regular JB?

:opcorn:

I'm eager to hear the feedback on this. As I just went through this decision process a week ago, deciding btw the TF and the JB it's based on.

There are a couple threads in the forum over the last few years asking the same thing, but not many where anyone tried one and could report how it sounded.

The video demos on YouTube are few and lacking, IMO.

I've used the TM, but I hadn't listened to it side-by-side with the same guitar & JB. What I remember was that it sounded like a ruder, louder JB. It was everything I don't like about a JB and more...but understand, I don't really dig the JB at all.

It's very much a tighter and brighter version of the regular JB...a good choice for aging players who miss the signature bite of the original JB due to progressive upper frequency hearing loss :9:

LOL, oh hell! Now that's pretty damn funny. In the back of my mind hear Red Forman from That 70's Show proclaiming "Smart Ass", to your post.

They would sell more of them if they just left his signature off the top. It must always be in his contracts lol.
Does anyone else ever get their sigs across the top of pickups?

Dimebag and Hammett come to mind. Gus G has his logo on it, Zakk Wylde has the bull"s eye graphic... If it's really holding back the sales, it's not the fact of having a signature on it, but who that signature belongs to, methinks. With all thebpolitics in hisblyrics and weird stuff he says, it makes some sense.

Worst case of the "sig" thing was definitely the Gus G Blackouts...incredible pickups, but graphics as attractive as a '90s tribal tramp stamp tattoo:

Oh I forgot about the Dime and it's even in one of my own guitars, although it hasn't been out of the case for awhile.
It matches well on my prestige because it still has the V-series in the neck and middle slots,,,,so the Dime looks like it was meant to be in there.

For me it's a coin-flip between that big ugliness and an actual literal signature.

"Hi Dave this is SD, can we just have your initials in a corner or something?"
"Nope, it's in the contract boys, and I just happen to have my white sharpie right here for the proto" lol.
