Just got a Tung-Sol 12AX7 to replace the stock EH tube in my Vox Valvetronix. All I have to say is wow! HUGE difference. The stock tube sounded okay, but the Tung-Sol really opened up the amp. The breakup is much smoother, as is the clarity overall.

Thanks to Christian for the recommendation .

I hear ya! I'm going to order up some new tubes for my Orange Rocker 30 and VHT Pitbull!

Yep--my AD60VTX opened right up when I put the GT 12AX7M in it, then the JJ because the Mullard reissue fried :yell: . Makes it sound more natural and maybe less compressed. That stock tube blows. I also swapped the speaker out in mine for a V30. That sounded better, but it really changed from a good amp to a great amp (imho) when I got an Earcandy Buzzbomb and loaded it up with a V30 and G12H30 and put the neodog back in the combo. Now my 3x12 is just what I wanted from a modeling amp.

Same scenario at 75LP, the GT fried in short order but sounded stellar while it was working. Then I went to a JJ which was good, but not as quite as nice as the GT.
