Ti Floyd blocks?

The purpose of adding a larger trem block on a Floyd is for the benefit of more sustain.. I get that, and Im a huge believer... What is the benefit of a Titanium block then at a much higher price? Is it that it still provides the mass, and thus still a benefit, without the weight? Seems to me like it wouldnt be as beneficial. Unless it is indeed more about the mass than the weight. ?

Re: Ti Floyd blocks?

I've got a titanium block on my Ibanez Edge equipped RG 470, and it's brilliant. The equivalent brass one (had them both made to suit Edge type bridges by Hantug Custom Guitars) was warmer and had more low end, nice clarity. The titanium is about the same with sustain, but is much brighter and bolder with even more clarity.

I think Titanium is perfect for bridges that have a lot of pot metal construction like the Edge series of bridges, but titanium may be a bit too bridge for stainless steel built bridges like the original Floyd Rose and Gotoh Floyd Rose. I may have to install the titanium block to the Gotoh since the mounting holes and screws match up for both just to confirm.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, if you try the other, report back and let me know how it compared!
