Tone caps

Re: Tone caps

I reckon tone cap material doesn't even make a difference for a bass cut. If the cap cuts the given frequency by 100%, it shouldn't make a difference what that cap is made of.
It makes a more audible difference when using capacitors as a audio filter high pass or band pass application as opposed to bleeding off signals to ground. But it all depends on the application. Boutique price doesn't always equal better product, and perception is in the eyes and ears of the beholder.

I'm trying to find a dual concentric push pull 500k 500k pot but the only one I've found that will fit the form is a dual concentric push pull that's 10k 100k. But it has two knobs and a push pull in the middle. Anyone

Right, all the signal passing through the cap is shunted through the cap to ground. So you never hear it.
