Tone pots in Strat.....

I have an American Strat with three mini humbuckers in there, a 500k volume pot, and two 250k tone pots. The tone sounds sort of muddy and unclear. If i put two 500k pots in for tone, would it sound smoother?

It will sound a bit brighter, you probably be better off though putting a 500k for the bridge, and a 250k no-load for the neck (assuming that's how yours is wired). The 250k no-load will allow maximum brightness, while the 500k will be brighter than what's in there now, but still trim off some upper end to keep the bridge from getting too bright. Check you cap value also, for minihums, .015uF to about .033uf should be fine ( the old over used .022uF is still a great place to start though). you might want to try adjusting your pups first though, (if you haven't already) to see what you can get from them that way, before spending extra time and money.

The JB Jr's are where most problems occur with hollowness, and I've adjusted the polepieces to get the best sound i can from them.
