Re: Too Many Guitars

The number of stringed instruments in my house recently took a bit of a spike. I'm still in the process of getting rid of stuff . . . currently down to:

2 Violins (down from four violins and a viola)
1 Mandolin
1 Acoustic Parlor Guitar
2 Acoustic Dreadnoughts (down from 5)
1 Acoustic Tenor Guitar
1 Bass
1 Semi-hollow electric
1 Hollow body electric
3 Solid Body electrics

BTW - Yes, you can have too many guitars. When you have to start piling them up to get out of your bedroom for example:

Speaking of, did you make a pretty penny off of those?

I've been selling off most of the stuff for around 100$ an acoustic . . . there were surprisingly few decent guitars, and many had horrific repair work done:

(Can you spot the nearly invisible professional repairs done in the above photo?) I cried when I saw that one, it used to be a very nice Yamaki clone of a Martin. Very nice guitars . . . when they don't have giant chunks of other guitars Frankensteined in.

There were over 100 acoustic guitars when all were counted . . . probably about 20 would have been playable/sellable. All told, between the guitars, ukes, violins, etc. my dad should be up about 5-6 grand in the end.

Re: Too Many Guitars

Anyone have experience with a good 12 string electric? Not electric acoustic but pure electric.......just the added harmony of an additional 6 strings. Thanks!

FENDER mij Stratocaster XII is not bad. The 1980s run is good, I think the 2000s run is a little better with a better bridge.
