Took a chance on Sin Pickups EVH model, with picture

Put it in my Jackson. And it sounds pretty good. I'd read that some people have had some issues dealing with the owner. I bought mine on Reverb, he was quick to answer questions, ship, and I had it pretty quickly, so nothing to complain about there. The only thing weird about the pickup is that I had trouble with threading screws into the baseplate. It didn't seem like standard pickup screws were working, the holes were bit small, so I reamed them out a bit, which worked, but it was unnecessary labor.

Sounds like the screws you are using might have been larger than typical screws? I have about 10 Sin pickups and none of them have had an issue using Duncan-style mounting screws.

Chris Carter is a good guy, if a little misunderstood. I've learned you just have to be patient with him sometimes.

He has a history of jumping around between accounts/platforms and occasionally falling off the face of the earth for a few months at a time, but I'm always glad when he pops up again.

Outside of a short wait, I've never really had an issue with him, to be honest. And his prices for what he delivers can't be beat!

Excited to see what you think of the EVH model as you use it more...

See, I don't like the clear bobbins, unless it is on some industrial steampunk guitar.

This was a cheap guitar project. I picked up this Jackson JS22 used. Which by the way, is unbelievable quality for a made in China guitar. Nothing about it feels cheap. Even the frets are dressed nice. I'm kind of blown away by how it feels and plays. Anyway, I liked the novelty of the clear bobbins. As for the pickup, it's quite good. I'm digging it.

Van Halen deal I guess if you want the authentic look. It's interesting. I prefer black, zebra or covered or double cream (F-U LD).

To me, it's kind of a cool look on a blacked-out guitar!
