I need 4 track- loc type casters like a Mesa cabinet has. I cant see spending $60 to $100 for a set so could someone please tell me where to find these and how much is reasonable? I bought a Voodoo amps cab and I guess they dont come with casters? Now I need some. HELP

I like the old Ernie Ball casters. They're pop in/ pop out, they generally run under $25 for four. Out of the 9 or so years since I've put them on my bass cabs (around 90 lbs a piece) I've replaced one caster, maybe two.

Here's another in favor of the Ernie Ball casters. That pop out feature was/is great!

Do you have to drill a hole in the cab? I didnt want to put any more openings in it than I have to but I will check them out. Thanks

I read a receiw on the Ernie Ball casters and someone was dissapointed in the small wheel size. Do you find the wheels to be a problem. I like My Mesa cabs wheel size but would prefer it to be lower to the ground.

You have to drill 5 holes per caster, one large one for the "female" end to intrude into the cab and 4 to hold that "female" "cup" in. If you do it right, it should provide a decent seal, if that's what you're concerned about. Besides that, the large "cup" also holds the caster in, so the entire force of any jarring on the caster is not borne just by the screws, and the wood immediately around the screws.

My old Marshall cabinet had a caster problem, so it was recommended that I remove the mounting screws and turn the base of the caster 90 degrees. Once I got the caster off, that had been done... several times, and the wood was all chewed up from many different screw holes from surface mounted casters.

The wheels are at least 3 inches, I don't see any problem. The only problems I've ever had was that I had one, maybe 2 wheels split. Again, each of those cabs is around 90 lbs.

Thanks. I may end up ordering from Mesa as they have wheel locks on the 4 inch version. $100 though. ouch! $60 for the 3 inch version withoutwheel locks.

Ooof. I guess the lock might be pretty handy in some situations, but over all... for $100...

Make sure if you do a lot of rolling the cab on sidewalks that you keep an eye on the screws. Drill pilot holes when installing. You don't want to crack the wood.

why not just get casters at home depot or something like that
you could get em as big as you wanted
