Trade my XXX Combo for Blackstar HT-20 Head?

Re: Trade my XXX Combo for Blackstar HT-20 Head?

The bugera logo has to go, that goes without saying. The height of the opening is probably just a tad too slim for my knobs, so I need to either remove the creme colored piece entirely or cut it down. I'll know more about my options when I get the cabinet and can see how everything is attached.

keep the XXX.

The xxx has been kept. I'm thrilled about this and glad that I've found a solution where I'm keeping the amp. Sparkling cleans, amazing metal tones, real reverb, lots of effects just for fun (I have pedals for quality effects), and great at bedroom and live volumes. I have no idea why I was looking, just a typical case of unnecessary GAS.

This cabinet looks amazing. Look at that tolex!

The area in green is where the front of my xxx chassis needs to fit. The area in red might need to be removed entirely, I don't think I'm going to be able to cut it and keep it pretty. I'll start a new thread when I undertake this project.

Awesome idea!

about getting rid of the Bugera logo and all that...just make a new baffle and cover it with some speaker cloth or tolex. The woodwork wouldn't even be complex, just a flat board routed for the amp's faceplate, and then screwed into the headshell.

Do you think the area I outlined in red (baffle?) can easily be removed from the cloth below it or am I taking out the whole front of the cabinet?
