Traynor YCV40WR

So I'm looking for a decent sized combo, and the Traynor YCV40WR is on my radar. I played it a few years back in montreal and remember it being good, but don't remember too many details. Looking on ebay, I see a couple for about $500 shipped. With a classic 30 inside, it seems like a bargain.

Does anyone have any experience with these that would explain the low price, or is it just one of those things that you get lucky with?

Re: Traynor YCV40WR

Traynor are amazing for their price/quality ratio.

I tried one of these ycv40wr and I really (really) liked it. Great cleans, very nice O/D that had a good range (from slight break-up to fairly heavy).

They just sell for less because they are still less known and reknown than others.

If I had to buy another combo, it'd be one of these or the blue ones at 50w with el34s...

Re: Traynor YCV40WR

I love my YCV40WR . . . the only problem that I've had with it is that it's a little too bright when you're playing at very low (bedroom) volumes. Really nice cleans, nice overdrive . . . it sounds much fuller if you get the matching extension cab. It's not point to point handwired or anything, but it has stood up pretty well to the last year or so of me banging it around in and out of the car. I really think that if Fender or Marshall had released this amp that it would be a best seller . . . and would get an extra few hundred added on to the sale price.
