I aint into em.
I know a guys whose got a few Pauls with Kahler trems.
One is very nice, but it still isnt my bag.The other is aweful.
Any of you guys have Gibsons with Roses, or Kahlers?

Re: Trems on a Gibson?

the only trem type of thing that should be on a Les Paul is a Bigsby. Other than that, I'll stretch SGs and ES335s to Maestros, but thats the limit. But a true all out tremolo system on a Gibson is a flat NO

Works great for Neal Schon!

Re: Trems on a Gibson?

A few years ago a guy had a black custom with a Floyd on it for sale for $900. Wish I would have grabbed it.

I'm a Gibson crack-ho but also a bit of a rebel in that I always wanted a trem on a Paul. I wouldn't have the nerve to do that to a non-tremmed one (unless I really came into some money) but would definitely buy one that already had it done.

+1. That's the only trem that actually 'looks' good on a Les Paul. To be honest, I've never seen one with a Floyd Rose. I wonder if Zakk Wyld ever put one on a Les Paul just to give it a go, although he gets along fantastic without one.

Hey EMPTY POCKETS,

How do you like that Stetsbar? I've been seriously considering adding one to my project guitar, my Gibson Explorer.

Re: Trems on a Gibson?

HA! I WISH that was my SG man. I just posted it to show that other types of trems can look good on Gibsons.

I actually found out about those things from your post asking about them a while back....i really want one for my green SG-X but that guitar's getting new pickups before i do anything else to it.

Re: Trems on a Gibson?

Saw Snowy White using a Stetsbar in a live concert - pretty impressive.

Def Leppard with their Kahlers, Neal Schon with the FR, Neil Young with the Bigsby, Angus Young with his hardly (or never) used Vibrola... Tremolo bridges on Gibsons rock.

That would be fine if Bigsby's weren't functionally worthless to me. They're big, in the way, block my vision of the vol/tone knobs, kill the tone of guitars I've put them on, add a crapload of weight to the guitar, and will not stay in tune. Other than that, they're great.

Re: Trems on a Gibson?

The coolest mod I've seen on a Paul is probably the 3 single coiled one...
