Re: Tried a Triple Recto

I would get a 2x12 and possibly a hot plate - do you think that would compensate some? I cant fit the 4x12 in my toyota corrolla

well better find someone who can mod it with a poweramp volumo knob!Or something similar.
For my ears ,many amps sound with 2x12 better anyway! So i allways reccomend them!

Re: Tried a Triple Recto

Not a huge recto fan. I still have an old 2 channel dual rec but for mesa amps it doesn't even come close to a mk.4, which has a way tighter sound, is more versatile, has better cleans and very harmonically rich.

I also HATE tracking with rectos in the studio. You have to very carefull eq'ing them as that low end will get out of control in a hurry.

Re: Tried a Triple Recto

I'm wanting to get a dual recto eventually. Pretty much my dream amp.

Anything can be buzzy until you crank it. My 6505+ is very buzzy in person until the volume is around 5, then it gets huge and chunky sounding, leads go to butter too.

Cranking a high gain amp helps with the buzz factor alot.

Re: Tried a Triple Recto

Its a Recto - love it or hate, but its still a Recto and that is what they do. I like 'em!

I remember trying a lot of amps a few years ago (all flavors) and what stuck in my head the most was the huge warm low mids of the recto, nothing else had that. Turn down the gain a bit, a lot of great sounds exist in the 12 to 2 positions for pre-gain
