Re: Triple Shot mounting rings
These things are gonna be just huge. There's so many uses: whether just to find the tones you like, to permanently wire, to leave in the guitar, to avoid drilling holes, or make working on semi and fully hollowbody guitars, (or vintage ones, for that matter,) so much easier.
But in my opinion, the best feature of them is that you can use proper potentiometers. I used to swear by vintage Centralabs, until I found
RS Guitar Works pots. There's simply no push/pull that has the great taper, perfect resistance and high-quality of these pots. They make the guitar so much more usable, and add so many great tones you just can't get from sub-par pots.
Of course, you could always use mini-toggles, but who wants to drill extra holes in their guitar, (especially a ES-335, which is a nightmare to modify.)
Add in the low-price, (Triple Shots, at $50 a pair, will cost far less than 4 push/pulls or good-quality toggles,) and it's a surefire winner.
All I can say is, the guys at Duncan have hit the ball straight out of the park with this design, and I'm sure they'll reap the rewards they deserve.
I can't wait for them to come in cream, so I can match them up with all my guitars...
