Very cool buddy....I've built the IC Buffer,The MXR D+,and tomorrow I'll have completed the BSIAB 2 off JD's site....I get my parts from www.mouser.com and Steve at Small Bear Electronics...You can see pictures of my buffer and my MXR under a search...I'm having a blast building pedals lately..

I want to tidy up the wiring in my MXR but here's what the pcb and the insides look like....My BSIAB 2 will have nice neat wiring throughout and I'll post pictures of that upon completion.

Here's the IC Buffer pedal....This was nice and easy to build and works great!
Next project will be either the Dallas Rangemaster or the DOD/Ross Compressor..I think the Rangemaster is on the "Fuzz Central" website though?

Yeah, I was planning on getting most, if not all of my parts from Small Bear. That's a great site. Nice pedals, John! Yeah, this'll be my first pedal project, though I've been soldering for a bit.

I like the TS as is, too, but I wanted to hear suggestions so I could try em out. I'm ordering a couple of mini toggles to add some different sounds. Assymmetrical clipping, for example. I definately like how it sounds stock, though. Any other ideas?

My next project will be to put the Easyvibe curcuit into an old Crybaby housing. Unless I find a better vibrato.

Contact me for some of the mods I do on the TS line...Take your time and before you solder any wire or component,make sure and then make sure again,that you're soldering your wires and components to the right locations..Do this during each and every step of the building process and this will save you having to troubleshoot a non-working pedal upon completion.

I've been fortunate to say that the first two pedals I put together have been working flawlessly for me...

Make sure you use heat sinks around the transistors and diodes and also solder in an 8 pin opamp holder and insert the opamp upon all other component replacements...Follow what I tell you and take your time and have fun making your own pedal...I'm really enjoying it lately,plus I can tweak the pedal after it's done,cause I got the schematic and the actual board photos(and my ears)as a guide.. :dance:

Try not to overheat your components..No more than 4 seconds max!

COOL !! I'd like to hear your review and pics of your BSIAB 2.
I've got mine stuffed into a Marshall channel selector (In retrospect wasn't
the best idea ) We tried mine at the N.Y. jam into Bludave's
67' Deluxe.. I had the Vol and Gain set WAAAAY to high and it started
feeding back uncontrolably. :smack: I've since dialed the voltage to the
FET's in by ear instead of what they recomend. The gain knob is much less
touchy now. But it's still a LOUD! Lil' sucker :13:

I may add a midrange pot to mine after doing some careful listening upon completion..I should have it done tonight after I finish a forum member's TS9 for mods...I made sure all of my wiring was nice and neat on this pedal and gave it alot more thought before I built it...I'm kind of curious as to what the 100k trimmer pot is for and how it'll affect the function of the pedal? We'll know soon enough though..

My "BSIAB 2" came out excellent! When I played through mine it had 3 things that I disliked about it..

1)It lacked the lowend balls I Like from my pedals..
2) The tone control didn't cut out enough of the highs even at it's lowest setting(off)..
3)The mids weren't eq'd right for my tastes...

1 fix took care of all 3 problems...
I removed R7(The 47k)and installed a variable 100k pot with a 5k6 resistor across the pot as a variable adjustment....This allows a much "browner" and darker tone at low settings and also allows finer adjustment of the lows and low mids in combination with the tone control settings,also there's alot of adjustment of the highs and the way the mids eq...It really made the pedal alot better..Totally alot better! Try it on your's....I call it a "Contour" control....Now I'm able to brighten up the pedal and bring the mids out more with less of the lows or I can sought of scoop the mids,add more lows and low mids and get sought of a Marshall meets BF Fender tones(warmer lower mids) with really good crunch....I'll mess with it more tomorrow but I Like what I'm hearing so far...My digital camera needs a battery or I'd have gladly posted some pictures....The pedal is so neat and tidy inside and it looks like something Mike Fuller(Fulltone) would have put out on the inside on this pedal...

on the GGG site or did you dial the trim pot in by ear? I find it works better
in fender amps? In my Laney and JTM 45 it sounded O.K. But just like any
other Distortion Box. But in my Champ 12,Princeton and Hotrod Deluxe it
seems to really have a cranked Marshall vibe to it. Tommorrow I'm playing
my 1st gig useing the BSIAB 2 and the HRDx. See how that combo works
together in the real world. Thanks again for the tweaks I'll report back
my findings.

I just dialed the trim pot in by ear...There's only a very small range to adjust on the pot and I dialed it in very quickly...The "contour" pot is a great mod and makes the pedal alot more versatile...You can really go "brown" to brighter with this control...Before,the pedal just seemed too bright to me..
