Airlines don't give flights to other airlines. United sells tickets for Swiss flights, but it is fully disclosed at the time of purchase. My earlier comment still stands, it's all in the contract of carriage.

I meant for the actual getting me from point a to point b
I initially booked with Lufthansa operated by United but my flight was cancelled
Initially it was Newark Liberty direct to Heathrow on United but it was cancelled and then I had a Newark to Zurich flight and then a Zurich to Heathrow flight on Swiss Airlines.

Sorry about what happened to your guitar. Must have been something really heavy to push through the case and the controls in to the control cavity. Hopefully they will reimburse you.

I think that can be fixed since the damage is in rectangular shape and not any other form. Of course depending on the damage inside the control cavity.

Contracted = perform or "next"
Newark = Union labor

Probably couldn't fire the guy who did if he was caught on film jumping up and down on the case.

I'd fix up top with Elmos and careful calming/taping.

Then I would also brace from inside. Think cross brace Popsicle sticks, but more professional.

plus - if you look in the background, he is playing through an HM-2. It will sound the same regardless. :lmao:

I was thinking the same. Only problem I can think of is how splintered the control cavity is.

It’s not splintered in lots of tiny pieces, one piece of mahogany has come off, but it’s for the most part broke into one piece with a few splinters either side.
I’ve seen quotes from 250-500 to get it fixed, and if I don’t like the look it could be filled in with some filler then sanded and painted or even put a veneer of maple over the top of it

Please have your guitar repaired in the shop of your choice and send me the repair bill.

Should your guitar be beyond repair, please have this confirmed in writing by the shop. This confirmation should state its purchase date and price. Based on this information, we will proceed with the reimbursement of its actual value, i.e. apply a depreciation of 10% per year.

In order to be able to process the payment, if possible, please provide me with following information:

Name and address of the account holder
Name and address of the bank
Account number
Sort code

I look forward to hearing from you.

I was kinda expecting a “So sorry...” type response.

Are you going to go ahead with the repair or...??

I agree, this is a pleasant surprise.

I think any guitar can be repaired but sometimes it doesn’t make a lot of sense because the fix is more expensive than the guitar. You could fix this cheaply or you could justify refinishing the guitar which would make the repair pretty expensive.

So, according to their policy, only fly with new, cheap guitars. After 10 years, they deprciate your guitar down to nothing. If they destroy a vintage Les Paul beyond repair, you'd be s**t out of luck with their 10% per year depreciation.

My guess is that depreciation is from the remaining so after 10 years it’s about 35% of the original. It takes about 20 years for it to be 10% of the original value.

But your good point holds :)
