TSL60 problems

I have had a TSL60 head and cab for a while now, and its been pretty good. But recently.... when I have the reverb on i get this massive "swooshing" sound when i change from OD channel back to clean. And in the last day or so it has this "click" noise (its hard to type sounds!!!) sound, which comes and goes intermittently, its driving me nuts. I think the amp has lost its treble too, normally people describe this amp as being too brittle, but in the last day or so its more bassy, but in a bad way.

Any ideas what the problem is?? im expecting a lot of people to reply "Tubes". I have had the amp over 2 years so im guessing it needs tubes anyway, but would that be causing all the weird noises? even the reverb?

Once again, im grateful for the advice I get here.

Cheers guys

Re: TSL60 problems

Yeah, the valves could do with a swap. Is the footswitch ok? There have been reliability issues with these in the past. Could be dodgy connections in that.

I have to say that re-reading your post, strange, unexplainable sounds usually point to things like valves.

Re: TSL60 problems

Pretty happy its not the footswitch, the only thing im thinking it could be (only cause i now bugger all else about the workings of an amp) are the tubes. Im hoping thats all it is, cause they should be easy, and cheap enough to replace myself. If its something else...

I'll be annoyed

Re: TSL60 problems

i have the combo version of that amp and the verb would to the same thing. it would go woosh when i changed from lead to clean or crunch to clean. i thought it sounded cool but its not supposed to be there. i ended up taking out my reverb.
