I just picked up a Kustom Tube 12 for basically free!!! (swapped a set of Mexi Tele pups for it). It has your standard no name Chinese 12AX7 in it.
As it stands right now it is a decent sounding little practice amp, that can be used as a pre-amp, or extended...neat little beast.
I want to swap out the tube in it...I know this can drastically change to complextion of the amp...I was looking at a Tung-Sol 12AX7..but I really don't know much about the things.
Can I use different tubes (AT, AU, AY,6L6, EL34...ect) and what is the difference in the tone between them???
Not really into the high gain stuff...just like nice warm solid crunch.
